PARKINSINGS
Funded by the Arts Council of Wales, ParkinSings is a collaborative pilot project by Choirs For Good and Parkinson's UK Cymru to find out if singing can improve the wellbeing of people living with Parkinson's and their carers.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The ParkinSings pilot project ran from January - April 2025 and was set up to find out whether group singing could improve the wellbeing of people with Parkinson’s and their support carers. Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition with over 40 symptoms, including tremor, slowness of movement and muscle stiffness. Whilst there is no known cure, we do know that staying active and maintaining social connections can help people with Parkinson’s to
mitigate the significant physical and emotional impacts of the condition. In total, 49 people joined the ParkinSings choirs in 3 locations across Wales, meeting fortnightly to rehearse for three months, before 35 choristers delivered a showcase performance at the Senedd in Cardiff on 1 Apr 2025, the start of World Parkinson’s Month.
